Is this an issue with my upper?
In the middle of a build I just got an upper receiver from Rainier via their daily deal on their new app. Was planning on getting a different one but couldn't pass up $80. Today I went to put it on my built lower (Spikes with PSA LPK) and the pivot pin went in with no issues, rear takedown pin goes in until it reaches the other side of my lower and I almost would have to hammer it in to get it to go the rest of the way. I take it off and try again a few more times and manage to get the pin through a couple of times but I have to use a punch and a hammer to get the pin to budge in order to take it off.
To see if this is my lower or LPK I try a stripped PSA upper I have laying around and it goes in with no problems, try a colt upper that I have on another build and same, no issues. Next I look at the Rainier upper and it shows a groove on the bottom of the hole where the pin goes through indicating that it is grinding against that part of the upper. It just seems that the holes are slightly off but I am not sure if this is big enough of an issue to warrant trying to get a new one or just chalk it up to a tight fit. Any thoughts?
