I have three Ed Browns. They are my favorite all around single stack 1911 HANDS DOWN. Quaility, Fit, Finish, Accuracy, Reliability, etc... Prefer it over my Nighthawks, and Wilsons.

I had a stainless Special Forces back in 08-09. I got interested in another platform, so I sold my 1911s. I shot a friend's Nighthawk back in May and got the bug again. I ordered another stainless Special Forces - this time with slim grips. It came in last Sat - shot it Sunday. Runs fantastic.
I liked their products well enough to buy the exact same gun, essentially. You will not be disappointed...

Just got a SF in 9mm, and it's a beast. ~200 rounds out of the box without skipping a beat. exudes quality.
WHoops - didn't realize I had already posted on this thread :p
Most of the differences between the different families of EB's are cosmetic.
I just had them build me a 5" target gun with adjustable sights.
EB is the most "elegant" of the 1911 semi customs and their parts tend to be better priced and better made than others like Wilson.
This 1911 maker continues to get strong reviews from many corners of the gun universe. I want one for sure.
"their parts tend to be better priced and better made than others like Wilson"
Not in my experience.
Wilson continues to improves parts and products. A Wilson in 2011 is different from a Wilson made in 2014. Pretty cool stuff that they are so heavily invested in R&D and making improvements.
I haven't ever owned an Ed Brown, but the fact that nobody can seem to agree if they're good or not, and that there's no real overall consensus tells me all I need to know.
