No. YOU think it fits. For all you know, the OP may want something that is nicer and better equipped than a basic AR. The OP probably knows very little about ARs, which is why he joined and is asking about his purchase. So at least we can let the OP know that there are metric tons of options out there, and make some suggestions other than basic ARs.
I use my AR the same exact same way. I shoot 3-5 times a year, and it's my "everything AR", my only one. I own a BCM Jack Carbine because it's a fantastic shooting AR, much better than a 6920, and it has the stuff on it I want.
Just because someone doesn't shoot a lot, doesn't mean they don't want something better than a basic AR. But how would they know, unless someone let them know about all the other possibilities out there? All the other sweet ARs that are much nicer, much sweeter shooting, etc., etc.
"I'll also echo what other folks have said about a scope and the front sight post. I use a 1.25-4 VXR on a rifle with the front sight post, and now I never even notice the FSP through the scope"
Question is... Can you see what is behind the FSP? GH
I will get flamed for this but I went with the stag model 3 with the plus pk instead of the colt MOE ...why I did not want the front sight post on it.
I will be mounting a Leopold VXR patrolmen 1-4 or vortex PST 1-4 scope on it. The Stag plus was still $90 cheaper and I am on a budget.
The stag has a life time warranty. Other then this post most give them a favorable review.
•PLUS PACKAGE: Includes individual Magnetic Particle (MP) & High Pressure (HP) testing of the bolt and barrel & upgraded barrel steel (4150 barrel steel chrome lined) •1:7 twist rifling •M4 feed ramps •M-16 bolt carrier •Heavy buffer assembly •One extra 30 rnd. USGI magazine (2 total)
For what I will do with it this should be fine. I also need a set of fold down sight ? what's the best bang for the buck here.
Thanks for all your input.
IMO, the new Magpul MBUS PRO sights are the best bang for the buck right now. Metal construction but still relatively light and they have a low profile when folded.
I will look in to them thank you.
