I have to agree with ptmccain here. I did a pretty good bit of research before going down the hole and all indications of failure are easily 5+ years old.

Per Trijicon, all the RMR's with the Data Matrix barcode on the right side, have the updated, more robust electronics, adjusters, internals, etc.
There should be little to no issues with these new RMRs.......Trijicon started putting these new updated RMRs out about last September or October.
I have run an RMR 02 on my duty and callout (SWAT) G-17 since they rolled them out. The first battery lasted right on two years. It just ran about 800 rounds through a LAV class just a couple of weeks ago. It gets ridden pretty hard in all weathers and some pretty unpleasant conditions. The Glock was a new Gen 4 when the RMR was put on there. The Glock looks a little rough. The RMR has had no problems. Just a sample of #1.
With all of the work done to this including the work on the trigger guard, why the grip tape and not a stipple job? Looks like the finger grooves were removed as well..
Edit: nice review btw. I intend to acquire one of these sooner or later.
