Again, AR isn't a heavy hitter but recoil pushes your gun, gun pushes your mount, mount pushes your optic. If everything is already touching what is pushing it you minimize issues. Not really needed on an AR if using quality parts that are torqued correctly but it is free insurance so why not.

Because it is. Using your rifle as an example, the Aimpoint is stationary and the AR/Rings move backward during recoil. This gives the appearance of the Aimpoint moving forward. The way you have it setup now prevents the aimpoint from moving forward.

Avoid TOS.
