Not Scottsbrad but there is a roll pin that goes through the forward assist and into the upper. Knock out that roll pin by driving it towards the inside of the upper and the FA can be removed.

When choosing an upper receiver. There is really three main things to check. Trueness of the Picatinny rail, squareness of the barrel extension area to the Picatinny rail and that the barrel extension area is slightly undersized so that you get a tight fit.
The BCM upper receiver meet all of the above standards. Some might do it as well, but then you have to look at cost and figure out if it is worth it TO YOU.

Agreed.
I have another rifle with a BCM M4 (I think I mentioned it above), it is an excellent upper as well, and very reasonable. The BCM M4 upper has a very tight fit to the barrel which is just what you want. In fact the barrel fit to the BCM M4 upper is tighter than the Vltor MUR. I had to lightly heat the BCM upper to get the barrel in without resorting to a mallet.
I like both the BCM and Vltor MUR, but I was hoping to get an extra stiff upper for these two builds. So I went with the MUR.
BCM and Noveske are in my top five favorite companies.
No, just haven't finished adding panels, and haven't decided which light, and I'm not in a hurry. One of these with a T2 (or T1 if I cannot wait) will be my go-to AR. I like the new builds very much. It's almost like buying a cool new car that I've been wanting, but not driving it because it might get scratched. Haha. Really, I have more stuff than I can shoot so I'm not in a hurry. These will get a work out in the near future.
