Glad you asked because I'd love to buy one.
The closest thing I've seen is the Spikes GMP from AIM Surplus but as far as I know it's only available as a complete upper.

See I just want the barrel but I looked at that and Spikes says that their out of stock
Not that it's quite what you're asking for, but VooDoo makes a 16.5" lightweight rifle gassed barrel. 750 gas block though.
We are working on some Dissipator style stuff now. Once we get caught up, we will get it into the finishing stages. We also want to look at some potential custom rail options with it.
Great news! Can't wait to see what options are available.
Hopefully BCM will make a 12 inch KMR.
Iraqguns, keep us posted on the dissipator development. I'm definitely interested.
Me too!
Does anyone here have experience with the 16.5 VooDoo? I'd like to build a lightweight somewhat retro Dissy (A1 handguards, not sure what stock, NoDak slick lower and upper) and it looks like a reasonable choice.
If nodak ever makes their slickside upper ever again. I've been waiting for awhile for them to start making them again. Should have bought one when I had the chance. A nodak 604 upper dissipator would be pretty sweet!
Please offer a PINNED low profile gas block similar to Spikes.

SIONICS Weapon Systems Dissipator News
by Matt on December 18, 2014 in Guns
Those of you who have been waiting on SIONICS Weapon Systems to bring their Dissipator barrels to market won’t have to wait much longer. According to SIONICS the barrels are being finished and should be available shortly. SIONICS is exactly the kind of manufacturer that can help secure a niche for the Dissipator and I trust that the quality will be excellent.
From SIONICS:
Barrels are getting finished to include the Dissipator styled ones. We should have pics up soon. Our Dissipator uses a proven midlength gas system with low profile gas block and the ability to pin the FSB in the rifle length position. This will allow you to have the longer sight radius, with a proper functioning gas system and longer rail.
This is great news! A high quality company building dissipators! I love using rifle length irons, but much prefer the handiness of my 16" middy's and carbines. Best of both worlds for non optic shooting.
Really looking forward to an irons only dissy build, been wanting to try out some Sionics products.
I would love to have a free float dissipator
Barrels will be on the site tomorrow I believe. This profile adds approx. 1 oz. to the overall weight and gives us the versatility to make a standard Patrol Zero carbine or a Dissipator styled upper. Here's a mock up with a Geissele MKII rail.

Can we get a picture of the barrel only?
I'm curious of the final profile. I know this thread started as a pencil barrel dissy question, but what does IG have cooked up for us??!!! :)
Since it is will provide the versatility for making the patrol carbine and dissipator, I would assume it is a medium contour barrel as spec'd on their standard offering. I think some here will be disappointed it's not a lightweight profile, but I like their medium profile. It's a smart design that makes a hell of a lot more sense than the standard government profile barrels seen used on other dissipators.
Here's a pic of the original contour from Weapon Outfitters. The area from the gas block until the last 1/2" is the same.

An SMR Dissipator? Nice. :)
Nice. Glad to see this. Hoping to get one and place old school triangular hand guards.
That Spikes LW dissipator is pretty much my ideal carbine setup. I like how the barrel steps down and only increases in diameter where it needs to for the front sight assembly. I hate ass-backward barrels that are heavier at the muzzle end. It would be sweet with a 12" free float handguard behind the pinned FSB. Unfortunately that Spikes upper came out right after I bought my BCM 16" LW middy. It made a great rifle, but I would have liked one of those dissys that much more. I suppose mine is slightly lighter weight and less muzzle-heavy.
I agree with this. Spikes makes pretty much the ideal dissipator with the lightweight profile and pinned gasblock. The only problem I see with them are that they NEVER MAKE ENOUGH and the barrel can not be bought separately. The assembly is sold out almost immediately. Del-Ton makes a very front heavy dissipator that is useless to me. I'd like to see this barrel.

They do make a 9er.
