Is the mark12 mod 0 worth the extra money?
So have any you guys have any experience with these bcm uppers I'm going to be shooting off bipod mostly and probably put a magpul psr stock on it will this get me under moa accuracy at 100?
You won't need a PSR stock to make it precise - handloads (and probably copying the 77grSMK/XBR Power/Wolf Mag Primer load MarkM and Pappabear keep raving about) and a usable trigger and you'll be mechanically able to make good groups in good conditions. That BCM KMR Recce is the value king for AR's; it's a good enough barrel that you have to be on your game, feeding it well sorted handloads, and already well into tradeoff territory of an optic large enough to help make precise shots but not into the hubble space telescope range that the optic decides how it handles. There are some other excellent match barrel options (HCS/Centurion both have Douglas based Recce barrels that are tack drivers, but they're a fairly heavy profile; the Shilen blank Rainier UltraMatch are really impressive for the money, and the Noveske Recce units are equally capable to the best of the two previous options, but those are really pricy.
Yep.
I had the BCM lower from Grant already (w/ Geisselle SSA) and was running a standard BCM 14.5" midlength with Magpul hand guards. Just bought that exact upper a week ago and took it to the range today. It's a freakin' tack driver. I was only able to shoot 50 yards, but easily less than 3/4" groups off a bench rest. I was just trying to get my scope sighted in on the new upper - I'm sure a better shooter than I could do much better, especially with a bipod and bag.
I'd go BCM (and have several times recently). You can also find great deals on Colts these days...I picked up 2 from PSA but they are all over.
I have ran an 18" Larue Stealth upper for the last several years and it has been a phenomenal shooter. But I just picked up a BCM SS410 16" middy with kmr15 because of the price point and good reviews on these barrels.
Waiting on a few more pieces before I can get it out on the range, but will report back soon.
I have the bcm 18" stainless barrel with 13" kmr rail, and I have been able to get sub moa results at 300 yards with federal match.
The bcm upper will shoot better than most shooters are capable. Buy it, use the money you save on a better optic and top shelf ammo. Or components if you roll your own. You have to be an elite shooter to need more.
