Lawn chair- actually all the earlier meusocs were original ww2 frames with whatever parts on hand that could be used to assemble complete guns. There were some Springfield slides but that is it. No complete springfields were ever used

Your right, I remember seeing the springfield custom shop logo cut up in the front cocking serrations, forgot they weren't complete springfields. Wasn't caspian supplying frames at one point?
One thing is really like about the Colt is the high cut front strap. That extra relief on the trigger guard makes a big difference to me. I really wish my TRP had that.

I drive this one hard. It has a few mods under the hood.

99% sure an MC can be ordered from SA in all black
I prefer the frame of the Colt. The relief cuts, etcetera. I wouldn't give Springfield a consideration at all myself.

I own both and here is my take. Both are quality guns for their price point. Each mfg has different philosophies on their build IMHO.
MC OP. Is a very tight gun. Tight tolerances, I have picked up SA guns I thought could not possible run they were so tight but they function perfectly.
CRG, FRAME TO SLIDE fairly sloppy. Some have said "it's a battle gun" so if some dirt gets in their it will still run fine. It really does have a different feel.
I enjoy both. Buy both and keep your Glocks and enjoy those too
Merry Christmas.
