2nd this. 300 blk is an awesome option for home defence.

Same. And as for "over penetration", are you referring to over penetration of a soft target (ie human body), or over penetration of home walls? Because no matter what silliness you read on the interwebs, almost any good round made for defense is going to go through normal home walls. Drywall just isn't very good at stopping bullets. Anyone firing inside a house needs to be aware of what direction they are shooting and where that bullet may go.
Referring to both possibilities, as they are just that.
Yeah well aware of that, but won't a supersonic 30cal contain more energy (therefore travel further) than a .22cal round? I have 55gr TSX on hand for HD purposes.
Compare graph below of 308 vs 223 (I know barrel lengths differ in this discussion, but I would think the below is indicative of the energy each round possesses).

I think the good 300blk rounds more closely mimick the 7.62x39 sat round than 308 rounds, going by memory.
Even with that, a light 308 penetrates less than a good 223.
Agree ^

Right now, you want this as a HD can. This is a lifetime purchase, and sometimes ideas and wants change. Unlike an aimpoint, if you get some POS can and dont like it, or find that it doesn't fit your needs later on, you are stuck with it. $100 or $200 isnt going to make a difference to you 5 years down the road.
I have an RC, so I am partial. But IMO i'd go with a RC or a Saker. I'm not sure that KAC cans do anything an RC cant, other than offer a higher price point.
