No. What I meant was I had to qualify at 500 meters so I know the basis of fundamentals. Which will help when I judge the optic. Does it track, etc.? Was obviously not a sniper or the best marksman. My only experience behind excellent glass was trijicon on the range to qualify and personal optics from friends who had the opportunity to spend 2 g's. I'm not sure what was confusing you at all Jack?

The only expensive glass options I have owned have been trijicon but that isn't really a scope like the one being talked about on this thread. I have played with a good amount of high dollar optics before just never had one zero'd for me specifically. I still know what a good scope has and what shit scopes will have. Sorry for the confusion.

I served 4 years in the marine corps, deployed once for 13 months, got out in 2012. Have a good amount of training on an ACOG but that is where it ends, as far as training is concerned. I have shot through high end optics like USO and NF but never had my own to zero and play with whenever I chose. ETA: As an aside, the Strelok ballistic calculator app includes the ACSS reticle and allows you to map out your load's drops -- so for example, you know that your .264 123gr Amax bullet with 2500fps MV actually maps to the 300 meter reticle hash mark at 279 meters, etc.
I gave it a try and returned it for a refund. There's was some wacky shit going on with both the windage and elevation adjustments. But that was with my copy. YMMV
