I've carried a 1911 for work for the past about 2 years. it's always been accurate and up until a couple weeks ago 100% reliable. I got it used(heavily it turns out), but it's been a great carry gun. I'll tell you that it took me a couple weeks to get used to having a brick on my right hip, but it has been a very comforting brick. The advice you got earlier about learning all of its nuances is real too. Learn how to strip it down to bare bones, and put it back together again. It's a very good thing to know how to do, especially so you can clean out the gunk from all the internals. I'm still rather new to 1911's, so take what I say for what it's worth, but what I just told you is what I was told in another thread, and so far has worked out well. Sweet looking gun man.
