How about everyone sticking with the actual topic of POI shift and not the validity of bayonets.
Not that I would ever have to order myself "To fix bayonet!", I am curious what the POI shift would be with a OKC bayonet affixed to a 14.5" M4, or a 16" civilian M4. Anyone out there willing to experiment?
I understand all that having taken part in the planning of numerous names operations and hundreds of combat patrols. But the less than one pound bayonet, which by the way issue to all people including those who cannot fix bayonets because we issue a blade/fighting knife to everyone, does not add so much weight to prevent anything, to include a lot of fire and maneuver being conduted. It is a non-issue, it basically is the rationalizing their lack of experience since there have been bayonet charges and enemies bayoneted in the GWOT by both US and our allies kind of proves they are still useful.
The shift in POI occurs bur since most killing is not done by rifle fire in the end it does not have an effect.
