Upper to lower fit too tight
I have a receiver set Im working on.
I just started assembly and the upper and lower fit it too tight
The only way i can get the pins in is to put the front one in first then close upper and drive the back one in with a punch
It will not go together by hand
Upper is Mur with a gen 2 noveske lower
I tried the upper on a different lower and it fit so I think it's the lower
Any suggestions to lossen it up enough to assembly and dissembly more easily ?
Upper to lower fit too tight
I SBR'd a Colt 6920 lower last year. Tried numerous uppers on it before sending in the paperwork and getting the engraving done. All fit great. Unfortunately I had a defective factory DD MK18 complete rifle that DD had to replace (the lower was defective and I'm still waiting for my stamp for the replacement ). Because I had my other Colt SBR lower, my dealer let me take the new DD 10.3 upper home. Wouldn't you know this upper has issues with a VERY tight front pin with the Colt lower. So much so I don't want to use them together. I have two other SBR uppers that fit great on the Colt lower and all my non-SBR uppers fit fine too. Conversely, the DD upper fits great on the DD SBR lower when we tried it in the shop.
My situation is one that it seems both the DD upper and the Colt lower are in spec but at the opposite ends of the spec and together it's just isn't quite right. Happens sometimes I guess.
