You seem to desire to run the heaviest buffer, regardless of what is best for the gun. We're all telling you the same thing; you can go TOO HEAVY.
I've given my bit of advice. I'm out.

I have a 16 inch middy with a mil spec carrier and a T-2 buffer and it eats everything I give it

So in short basically if your gun is running the way that it is (which it sounds like it is) why start changing things up to the point where you have to start experimenting again to make sure it's going to run? If the rifle is running then leave it be.

well there's a lot to be considered in this configuration. blanket configuration should allow you to run a H1 w/o issue for all ammos. But depending on your gas port size running something heavier like a H2 or H3 could be possible but might lead to short stroking when the gun gets gunked up. I think someone from Spike's said they actually run their gas ports on the small side so that end users can just use a carbine buffer for all their barrels. Not even sure why you would want more back pressure and a heavier buffer from a 16" di setup...isn't that just cancelling each other out?
