When the Accuwedge, EAR plug or other foreign object placed in the fire control group pocket- let me repeat that with emphasis- IN THE FIRE CONTROL GROUP POCKET begins to break down from age, vibration, solvents, lubricants and so on, where do you think the debris is going to go? Or, if that foreign object simply comes loose? That's right- into your Friendly Neighborhood Fire Control Group mechanism, resulting in strange trigger pulls, a weapon that won't fire, a trigger that starts doubling and tripling, or goes full auto until the mag is empty.
Placing a foreign object in your FCG pocket is like using a floor mat in your car that's going to slide and bunch up against the pedals, or leaving a loose screw in the broom closet of a Blackhawk where it can wedge itself in the flight controls, just to fix an imaginary problem
