If ABP does not cut out the ad related issues on your machine, your machine is f-ed. Period.
I never get them, ever. Not one single issue. Not one single re-direct. Not one single banner ad above.
I simply use the product on Firefox, with their preset list clicked, and I do not enable anything manually.
I am telling you beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you are getting re-directs and banner ads you don't want to see -- your machine has been configured poorly, your choices in permissiveness is leading to issues, or your machine is compromised.
M4Carbine.net will not troubleshoot user level issues. I have the ability and aptitude to test several usability configurations. In all configurations, I am able to mitigate (down to zero) the number of issues experiences on Windows 7 Pro with Firefox, OSX 10.x.x with Firefox and Safari, iOS 9.x.x on both an iPad and iPhone.
When I start downtuning the ABP settings so that more things show up, I can re-create a nightmare scenario where every fifth page load is a re-direct. That issue has been "fixed" at least twice that I know about, and the ad service continues to morph THEIR settings, and permissiveness.
Therefore, I remove their ability to have an effect at all on my browsing via a locked down ABP with a patched up Firefox instance.
