Is opt for the ELW barrel from BCM also. The weight savings makes it very fast to swing around from target to target. Even just going from low ready it seems much faster.
If between the ones listed, BCM or Colt no question. The others aren't in the same category

If the cost of the BCM reflects your budget, I'd go Colt and another pistol. Especially if it's your first AR.

If you're already leaning towards BCM and have the money then buy the BCM. Great product, fast shipping, first rate customer service if you ever need it and the best choice on your list. Colt is good too but by the time you add everything to the Colt that the BCM comes with you'll be at the same price or more. Forget the other brands on your list.
How bout this Set up...

All of the accessories included in that package are garbage. The sight/scope, laser, light, and sling are just junk. Colt is good to go, and DD is good to go, but just about everything else is not. I'd stick with the colt or BCM you listed. I tend to like BCM due to the mid length gas system. By the time you add everything to the Colt that the BCM has, you're looking at just as much, if not more money. The SIONICS rifle that IG posted is also a viable option. Typically, I'd say go with something basic like the Colt or SIONICS or a bare BCM upper and lower to find out what you like. Then start adding all the goodies. That's the fun part anyways.
If you can get the Colt SOCOM for that price then get it. A lot of people getting in on the AR platform spend more on a weapon and accessories that they will probably never get the full benefit from. Use the money you save to purchase the items you need to get the minimum gear to make your carbine ready for duty work like home defense. The SOCOM comes with a very workable quad rail. So you don't need another one. The SOCOM also comes with an ambidextrous safety selector which will help with manipulation from the "weak side". Put your dollars into:
1. A good sling like Blue Force Gear VCAS or something similar. $45-$55
2. At least a 1000 rounds of good 5.56x45 NATO Spec ammo. $300-$350
3. Weapons light and mount to fit the rail or front sight base. $80-$150+.
4. Around a dozen high quality 30 or 20 rnd. magazines. $100-$150.
5. A dependable red dot sight like the AImpoint PRO. $375-$425.
6. A good one day or two day carbine course to help you become more efficient with all of that equipment. $200-$500+.
It gets a bit pricey doesn't it when you see the big picture?
Also, try to check out the "Stickies" in the "New to Firearms and Shooting Forum". A lot of excellent info there to help with your selections.
Personnel I would like you to get the colt and take a course or two if possible. Then you will have a much better idea of what YOU NEED.
What works for me you may not like, I don't run a light on a AR. If the need would arise I will use my 12ga that has a light.
The BCM can be had for much less than the price you've listed:
Lower ($380) http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...on&key=LWR-BCM
Upper ($755) http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-B...lw-kmr-a15.htm
Total: $1135
