under $100, which lower would you go with?
Aero Precision
At Brownells at the link below they are 3 for $165 plus 10% more off with Code L3X. Delivered was $170.
But just for today...not too bad.

That Aero Precision deal is good.
midwestpx.com gen 2 billet lower for $100.
EDIT: It looks like the AP lowers for $65 on Brownells is the older gen without the beveled magwell.
Just picked up a couple of Aero lowers this weekend during their sale. I love these lowers. I own several and will probably SBR one or two of them. Great fit and finish and the ones I have are all in spec and work great.
I wouldn't limit myself. I have a few Armalites, looking for some S&W.
Anything in spec will do for putting away.
Aero or Spikes.
I've heard very good things with Tennessee Arms Company... yes, polymer, but people really haven't had issues with the exception of production issues when they first started (can't fault any new company for that). They have great customer service.

I just ordered three, which came out to $100.50 shipped (Black Friday sale). Doing one lightweight build, one FDE build, and the last lower I'm going to leave in the safe for a rainy day. Not a bad way to spend $100.
Aero. They're great. Have built three builds with them. Nice and clean/simple roll marks.
psa has there blew lowers at $49.99. Most people say they can't find the "blem"
Aero Precision....hands down.

Aero wins the quality vs cost conversation in my book. I've got 3 and they're just fine. Finish is ok, but spec is more important.

Aero, though local sellers seemed to have dried up. Less attractive when I have to add shipping and FFL fees.
But once I found I can get complete LMT defender lowers for $300 delivered to my FFL, my interest in building lowers evaporated. (Used to be $276!)
Hard to build similar quality for less, and you'd still just have a noname clone vs a respected mfg.
I sell the LMT stock, and put on what I want.
I like Stag (CMT.) Their fit and finish is very good, and there is virtually no slop between several different brands of uppers I have, yet the push pin at the back pops right out like it should.
I have had good luck with Spikes lowers. PSA is also good.
I would go Aero however make sure you inspect you lower at your FFL. Mine was sold as new and had a huge blemish on it. They initially said they would swap it out but then stopped communicating with me.
I would never buy a total rifle or upper from them due to poor CS alone.
I built a few lowers on LRB receivers and have not run into any issues with fit, finish or ease of assembly.
Last one I bought was a Ballistic Advantage, which is the same as Aero Precision I believe. Very nicely finished, and fit very well with the stripped upper I bought from BCM, minimal play between the receivers, easy to push takedown pins in and out.
MSRP is only $336 to start with. (Actually, may have gone up to $340 something) I was going to order from Quantico Tactical or similar, but decided on a whim to ask my LGS. He made a call to LMT, and in 20 minutes was setup to order. Had the lower in hand in 4 days.
To me, the LMT Defender Lower is one of the best kept secrets around. I just don't think LMT has pursued dealers much, but they were very easy for my LGS to work with. Excellent LPK, Receiver, buffer tube, etc.
If you want SOPMOD or 2 stage trigger you can get models with them as well. I have one of the two stage defender lowers and it's an excellent trigger. (If you like 2 stages)
Spend another $20 USD and get a Mega Arms.
Are Spikes Tactical lowers any good? They are available locally and cheap.
Aero, I would avoid Anderson like the plague
Colt, BCM, or Noveske.
BCM stripped lowers are hard to come by, but they're GTG.
Probably Aero since everything I have of theirs is pretty flawless. Though 2x PSA lowers instead of 1 Aero lower makes things a bit tougher. I never really hear anything about spikes these days...
I guess, how much do you care about that roll mark? I have found, that while I've bought numerous lowers of various manufacture that were perfectly fine in quality, I wasn't happy. I am a shameless brand slut, and I've gotta have what I gotta have
I always think about resale. Locally, people seem ok with PSA, Anderson Arms etc, but Aero are held in higher regard and sell quicker for a better price. That said, I like my Mega forged lower. Everything in it's right place and just a little north of a bill usually.
I have used both Aero, and Anderson lowers.....if I could do it over again, I would have just skipped the Andersons, and bought all Aero's. While the Anderson's have given me no trouble and went together smoothly, the Aero's are much better finished, and overall fit is better
I've assembled Spikes, Aero, POF, LWRC, Noveske (Gen 1-3)Anderson, and a used H&K... for the price the Spikes and Aero would get my money. The finish is better(Spikes more than the Aero and that's a preference), the holes were clean of extra material and there were no surprises assembling them.
I use Aero's also with good success. Both the m4 and m5 recievers
My brand spankin' new BCM upper came in the mail the other day, and I had a Spike's billet lower all put together and waiting. I swear, this is my first AR that has ZERO upper-lower movement. It's that TIGHT.
