Fair enough. I appreciate the input. I think I am looking for more versatility, so will have to explore the 1-4 or 2.5-10. Someone on another board said the leupold 1.1-8 was worth a look?

Seriously, use one of your existing rifles with a sling and take a carbine class. With your unlimited cash flow you can build and buy rifles until you're blue in the face but without any class time you'll never know what setup you NEED to fill certain roles (something about zombies or a monkey revolution???)
If I were you I'd put a RDS and Vickers 2 point sling on the MK18 you already have and get in on a basic class. Sit down after the class and evaluate how that setup worked out for you and go from there.
I can second the recommendation on the DDM4V11 PRO. Mine shoots very well, nice and smooth with the rifle length gas.
Still trying to decide on a permanent sighting arrangement. Kind of leaning towards a Trijicon RMR (RM01) with the 3.25 MOA dot, and a Leupold D-EVO. I just can't figure out how to incorporate a back up iron sight in back. With two good optics does a rifle really need a BUIS? I still say yes, but not where to put it.
I am enrolled in a Pat McNamara class in September so I need to decide what rifle to take and how to set it up.
I am being receptive to it. I just don't think a MK18 will do what I'm looking for. Not sure why so many people are opposed to building a rifle for a class.
No one runs a better trigger in their rifles? Everyone runs stock mil spec triggers? I find that hard to believe. Just because it's mil spec doesn't mean there aren't better options out there. :/
