I would surely take a MK4 Keymod over a MK1, if it was rail-less at 3-6-9.

To my understanding, GA will be offering a keymod version. Whether or not it will include the fixed rails will remain to be seen but it would not make sense to have a keymod handguard with fixed rails - defeats the whole purpose.
If this rail turns into a keymod one like the numerous other ones now than I'll be passing on them all together for sure.
Personally I don't like the keymod design, however I believe at this time it's a very easy solution for a MK4 design flaw....which was how to simple incorporate VFG/handstops to the underside portion of the rail where no rail exists.
By throwing a few Keymod holes on the underside of this rail, poof....you now solved the problem of running hand stops, and VFGs. The MK4 isn't designed to need rail covers or stuff like that of the past. So really if you take care of the handstop/vfg thing, the rails at the front run everything else perfectly.
Nice pics RXM:) In your pics though it does look like the MK4 could use some tapering over it's length. Just kinda looks a little block-y for such a lightweight rail.
Trident - I hear you about the whole keymod thing. I hope you're funneling your feedback back to Bill.
It is a nice looking rail but for me I would need more rail section at 6 O'clock to run a VFG.
I think, Geissele is the only one that make nice short/long rail for H&K I hope that also updates the MK4 to mount on the MR556, was the most successful since the weakness of H&K is just the weight, for the military no problem because there is already. substantially Geissele has the data to change the old mk2 into the new mk4 for H&K platform, it would be a good thing, exclusive. The quality of the product are really good, just do and take money, the Geissele known and appreciated, with a mk4 for H&K would have something more positive to give the company the share of owners of MR.
if I were Bill, I would consider this, I have a renowned company that provides high-quality pieces, I would have the exclusive right to provide rail for a platform that no one (remington makes them but they suck and sell only for law/military, Vltor makes them only short) speak clearly , nobody rail so attractive for MR, it would be a plus
Sorry for my english, I hope you understand what I mean
Nothing changed, and I still hold the exact same view about the keymod as before...it provides a perfect solution to a MK4 design flaw.
Using the keymod in this very limited fashion keeps the original MK4 design intact, and seals up the only real potential drawback to it for many folks including myself.
I've never been a full keymod designed rail fan, but again in a very limited use I see obviously benefit to it's design if for only this one use.
RXM...hopefully I can use your pic to just show what I'm getting at, if not I have no problem removing it.
