I have the Cole Tac cover. I decided to try it because of the straps. So far I really like it. The straps lock it in place well and give it a clean look.
I havent tried one since this incident, 20 rounds of M193 fired over the course of approx. 60 seconds, then left to cool. Manufacturer was Elite Iron.

I've been using a HAD cover for a year now. No issues. Stays cool enough to handle after several mag dumps. The Cole-Tac cover arrangement looks solid. Will be ordering one to evaluate.
Thats because you bought a mirage cover....for bolt action precision shooting. For mitigating mirage. The PBI/Nomez/Kevlar blend that makes up my bunker gear wouldn't hold up to that. If you're buying a cover for slung rifle skin/gear protection after a mag dump you need a different cover. The hi temp covers have glass/blend hi temp filled cores that will hold up to 3000.
coletac and manta have me on the fence, both appear to be awesome companies with great customer service, ive emailed both
