What to carry is kind of like asking, "Where do I invest my money?"
In both cases, you have to determine your comfort with risk and evaluate your options from there.
If you think you will never need more than 6 rounds, then a revolver is a good option for you. You can live with the risk of not needing more than that. You are comfortable with the odds of never needing more.
If you are not comfortable with only six rounds, you can carry something else, and etc. etc. etc.
These conversations are kind of pointless in a way since each person must make his/her own very personal decision based on factors only you can determine for yourself. Nobody else can tell you what will make you feel confidence and secure in your given situation.
