Black hills does not use a cfe type powder in their tsx loadings.
Yeah, I just got some of their 70gr GMX ammo so it shouldn't leave as much copper fouling as the TSX bullets.
Not to be a contrarian or start a pissing contest but I've read quite a few accounts online of them fouling markedly more. These accounts include threads on here where guys saw accuracy degradation in as few as 30-50 rounds. You know if accuracy is beginning to suffer the copper deposits must be somewhat horrendous.
I'd NEVER run a bullet that required CFE type powder to keep the barrel accurate. Eff that nonsense.
I have the Barnes 110gr TAC-TX ammo for my 300BLK setup. At the current time it seems to be the primo hard-hitter out there in supersonic. I am looking for the Hornady 110gr GMX to become available (as in actually in stock somewhere). I too don't care for an extra cleaning step with my weapons, I'm anal enough as it is!
I am slowly transitioning to the BH 70gr GMX as my high-end 5.56mm choice. A couple hundred more for my "rainy day" stash and I'll be GTG. In the meantime, anyone wanna buy some Silver State Armory 5.56mm NATO 70gr TSX ammo (the equivalent of the elusive military "brown tip" round)? :meeting:
