Yeah, Tactical Entry has ambi-safety, wood grips and magwell extension added. I'll probably throw on a magwell extension and an extended slide stop myself.
Other than that, same gun. I see a lot of people that say Kimbers are unreliable but I've owned a Pro-Raptor II and my boss has a Custom Shop target model from way back in the day and both shot well and never seen any malfunctions.
We're a master dealer and roll them out pretty regularly and the only breakage I've ever seen on one was a Grand Raptor II. The small female slot on the pin going through the frame - one side snapped off where it meets the male end on the lift side (MIM piece I'm sure). I had it fixed in minutes with a new piece, and even broken, it did not affect the function of the gun, it was just wobbly on that side.
I've been in the biz long enough to know every so often a gun is going to have quirks. But it's usually something simple enough that the manufacturer can fix it in no time, or if you're skilled enough at gunsmithing, you can fix yourself. Now, as for the 1911 - I know it's not going to run like a Glock out of the box. They do tend to be finicky. No big deal. It's going to be more of a range gun until I put at least 200+ rounds through it with no issues and feel comfortable with it performing correctly in a life/death situation. MIL and LE experience has taught me that.
My G19 will always be my carry slut. But every American man needs a 1911, well, because John Browning. Lol.
