Armalite?

I had a well known gunsmith in my area take a look at the barrel nut and upper in general today.
His diagnosis is that the barrel nut was damaged by an excessively worn or damaged wrench.Everything else looked good on the upper.
The Armalite gunsmith called me back this afternoon and he said that he would replace the barrel nut regardless of any warranty status. He said even if the upper came in for a non related repair that he would automatically replace a damaged barrel nut as he does not like seeing them.
But that the complete uppers do have a 1 year warranty in any case.
He said it was fairly common for him to see barrel nuts damaged on the assembly line due to worn wrenches. But they are usually not allowed to make it to final assembly as it does not meet his requirements.
He also stated that the most common issue with teeth missing off of the barrel nut is that the handguards will not fit well. That problem I do not have.
So Armalite is taking care of my complaint just as they always have.Im a happy camper.
Thanks for the help folks.
Not sure how I thought it them, but I'm glad its being taken care of regardless of who the manufacturer was.
Yeap...the service I have received from Armalite, past and present has been outstanding and without question.
Armalites gunsmith is a extremely nice guy and provides a ton of info even if not asked directly.I was on the phone with him for almost an hour talking AR's.The man did not hesitate to answer any of my questions.
I'd highly recommend an Armalite product to anyone I know.
+1 for Armalite in taking care of it for you.;)
just return the damn thing, providing it is "NEW"Quote:
Got a new upper that has several teeth bent, rounded off and or missing on the barrel nut.
no need to whine about it here, just return it to Armalite and request a replacement

Im not trying to keep it a secret folks...I just did not see that it really mattered what the brand is.Things happen in manufacturing no matter what the brand is.I personally did not want things to turn into a bash this brand or the other.I got one possible, and I mean possible bad upper out of two recently.
Its not a LMT,its a Armalite upper in question.
