that muzzle device looks shorter than the original warcomp. Is this closed tines version approximately 1.5 inches and can it be easily pinned + welded? looking forward to the review.

Interesting. Since that device isn't even listed on their website, I wonder if you somehow got a prototype?
Let us know how it works.
I've had a normal Warcomp on back order with SF since February.
Sonova...
I just recently bought and installed 2 556 Warcomps and a 762 Warcomp and they just come out with this news?!
Ive got 2 of the originals, I don't have any issues.
Correct, and I have found it to be VERY effective, even on a 10.5" barrel. The regular Warcomp provides a bit of "glow" from the porting holes, even using M193 at night. I suspect this mount will provide 85-95% of the flash-effectiveness as the regular WC, and similar compensation. The thing I like about it is that it is lighter, the weight is shifted toward the rear, and it is non-biased. I know the biased porting on the original WC gave lefties hell. This has 3 ports to the right, and 3 to the left, of centerline, with no biases left or right. It should be a completely neutral experience regarding left/right handed shooters.
I will weigh both comps at work this weekend and post quantifiable weight differences.
A shooting review is likely going to wait until it goes on the end of the rifle, which honestly may be a while. I bought it for a very special project.
From the OP's pic it looks like it MIGHT BE a SOCOM mount WarComp. That thread pedestal and rim seems to be perfect for that.
Strike that. They're all like that anyway. Duh. I do like the closed design better. I'd like to hear how it works.
