CitizenSoldier, how do you like the Surefire M500A? I'm on the fence about getting one of these and slapping it on my 6920 or my 6933.
I just want at least one traditional carbine (NO VFG) with a light.

I like mine at 12 o'clock.........lights up the target evenly.

I use Cheapo lights that I got from A&N that work really well using AA's and mounted in Wallyworld 1 inch scope rings. On my AR its at 3 o'clock, the button right at my thumb. My AK is @ 6 o'clock, again, right @ my thumb since I have a 9 0'clock offset forward grip.;)
9 o'clock for me...no tape switch.
Its a great setup, and I love it. You get much more light than with a G2 or X300 and the beam is tight, allowing illumination up to (for me) about 100 yards. The LEDs on the side provide the perfect amount of "stealthy" lighting to find a door-handle, check terrain, etc. The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't allow for the use of a vertical foregrip due to the design of the pressure switches. The double heat shields keep the grip cool, even under sustained semi-auto fire. A great all-around light IMHO.
I find mine to be easy to manipulate with it in the 3 o'clock position. Light has a momemtary push button on the tailcap, and I activate it with the side of my left hand, which is wrapped around the foregrip:

So far I like it better than mounting it to hte M4 handguards.

On the AK, there aren't too many options really. (I've since gone to a Vltor offset mount that puts the light in almost exactly the same place)
