I'm a bit stuck
So I snagged a spikes crusader lower from the LGS a couple week ago and I have a list of parts to toss at it but I'm stuck on the buffer weight and a trigger.
I'm torn between the alg act defence combat trigger, rra 2 stage national match and the geissele g2s 2 stage.
I decided on a jp +7% "anti twang" spring, alg tube and I don't know what buffer.
I decided a long time ago to just get a full bcm upper in 16", hopefully midlenth, probably 1:7 (I think that's all bcm uses for most barrels?) with some m lok rail I haven't decided on yet.
What weight buffer should I be using?
I plan to do everything from range, hunting (deer we can use 223/556 here, varmint and such), shooting classes and the like.
I'd prefer it to be able to run any and all ammo one could think of.
I honestly would prefer a 2 stage trigger but I hear for a single stage trigger the alg is the bee's knees.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2b8e8dbac5.jpg

I have the ALG trigger and I'm happy with it, and I believe you can get 1/7 or 1/8 with BCM depending what upper u go with, personally I like the 1/7 twist seems too hold the tightest groups in my experience. As far as buffer weight I'm not too sure never really messed with it.

Pretty hard to beat Geissele when it comes to triggers.
Have you considered an A5 system for your RE? That is all I use on my builds these days.

@titsonrits
I don't like the stock and not a qd end plate.
Thanks for the reply

I think you'll have plenty of Geissele recommendations and for good reason.
This is what I heard that the RRA 2 stage isn't what it used to be. A friend who's opinion I value highly gave me that answer when I had the same question.
If you want another option for a 2 stage trigger and can wait a few weeks, you should look at the LaRue MBT. It really is a nice trigger. I have one on my SPR and it's a perfect application.
If you do decide to go single stage, Rainier Arms has a sale on Hiperfire EDT2's. I've had one out on my little range the past two weekends and running it through the paces. It really is an an excellent trigger. A little heavier than the ALG purple spring, but as I train and shoot more I am learning that o prefer a heavier 4.5 - 5.5LB weight rather than the 3-3.5 CMC's. I am in the process of replacing my CMC's wig EDT'a.
My application is more go-to battle rifle and not so much as a range / hunter so you may want the lighter weight. I haven't had any issues when I ran the ACT w/ purple spring, and I did run some hard primer ammo through it, but I did not put a thousand rounds on it.

You looking too keep it light weight or a little heavier and balanced?

@shrillar67 do you mean the whole gun or the trigger?
I have no problem humping around a heavy gun as I regularly use a we mk14mod0 when I play airsoft and that as it is is 16-18 lbs.
If trigger I'd prefer something light which is why I'm heavily leaning to a 2 stage trigger.

Both really
