Both of mine came with a roll pin and small hex screw. I re-used the original roll pin as the one that came with both magpul kits was oversized and I wasn't even able to get it started even with the proper roll pin holder.
Rob, thanks for the links! Realized I had the non-folding version and had to find an allen key small enough to fit.
That's why I love this place...somebody will know the answer to damn near anything!

I support the opposite ear with a block of wood that is just the right thickness (you are pressing the ear into it, hard). I also try to always have someone else help me hold the lower down and unmoving.
I lubricate the roll pin to be removed with a penetrating oil.
I go really slow.....
And, when doing a swap, I never completely remove the stock roll pin from the far ear by positioning it just right over the board. This way, I do not have to make the roll pin enter the hole for reassembly. Note that this method requires flipping the lower to drive the pin back in.
Has worked, so far, on a bunch of them......
