That is one way to look at it, and yes, I do think many states are very close to seeing additional bans in place for firearms. California, New Jersey, Oregon, New York, Washington, Hawaii and other states aren't making things any better for firearm owners. States like WA & OR have traditionally been states which have been "hands off" for gun control, but the last decade or so has had a rash of CA move north and bring their CA values along with them.
However, think about things this way. If the USMC stated they were buying 10,000 of the IAR along with the Magpul D60 magazines and pouches immediate issue, how long would Magpul keep them in stock? If the Army 82nd, or 1st ID decided the D60 would now be a primary magazine, how many do you think we would see on shelves? If the USAF decided they were going to jump ahead and grab them for all of their security Forces units in Korea, how long would they stay on the shelves of your local store or favorite internet dealer?
Just something to think about. For people who think drums are ignorant, that is awesome, I'm sure they have combat experience or some form of real world experience to back it up. I know that personally I've never been in combat and thought to myself that I had too much ammo, too many rounds in my weapon, or had too much water with me. Why water? Because shooting mo-fos can make a man thirsty...
