Epic to see the mounted... Is that an M203?
Nonetheless, very cool Aimpoint and Dbal.
Love the long time usage you can see on that lower, it's damn near bare aluminum.
ETA: Oh yes, and most importantly: A big thank you to your Buddy's Son for not only fighting for us, but for taking some badass pictures too.
Not sure what is attached... hoping for some education from the boys here actually.
M320 40mm grenade launcher is what it looks like.
That’s an M320. I preferred to carry mine on my plate carrier and use it as a stand alone.
Big improvement over the M203. Much easier to load in the prone.

PS: Tell him to fix his ****ing sling.
As stated, HK M320 40mm LV. It's heavy and bulky, double action.
Most consider it an improvement over the M203, but I prefer the former because it's lighter and smaller. The 320 can use longer shells, however.
Agreed on fixing the sling.
great pic. I've been hearing good things... MC just picked them up last year
Agreed.
Weapon mounted offered very little advantage to the M203 with the exception of better iron sights, a second strike capability for misfires, and being easier to load in the prone.
Additionally, taking it off of the rifle is not only easier to shoot more accurately, it's markedly more comfortable for mundane daily patrolling carry. I could use my rifle as a rifle and keep weight down in my arms. For those few times we needed a 40mm, it was accessible but not in the way. When in the trucks, it was easy to pass up to a gunner if needed for whatever reason.
M320 in a holster and a tac tailor 40mm belt. Loved that setup...had a 40mm pistol. #9mmIsForPussiesAnd45IsForNeedleDicks
