It goes both ways in most places. A few years back a guy bought a carbine stock with buttpad to replace the N stock on the FN shotgun (basically a Winchester 1300) he had and asked how to swap them out. The clerk looked at it a second and advised getting a hammer and punch to knock the pin loose and back the nut off. I mentioned pulling the latch down and sliding it off might work with no tools. :rolleyes:
To tell on myself, I actually did the full disassembly method, but in my defense that was mid 90's so prior to seeing a printed copy mentioning it and pdf's in a few seconds weren't on the menu either as was the case during the time frame of the LGS story.
