Got notifications that G&R briefly had 6970s in stock and that Arms Unlimited had lowers and other stuff “back in stock”. I wonder what is existing inventory and if they are sending out parts (which would be nice).

6720 is still available at G&R
$500 for a complete lower sans buttstock is kinda spendy tho...
DSG Arms had 6920's advertised as in stock per email
Hmm, if it is old stock I wonder if distributors or vendors were holding back to see how far the prices would go up.
Also wondering if those lowers are taken from complete rifles. I haven’t seen Colt lowers since Brownells was selling them and they were almost exclusive on virgin lowers.
If Colt cant make civilian rifles due to contracts they should just sell the parts from over runs.
Pretty sure ArmsUnlimited sells parts from complete rifles.
Call me a cynic but I think Colt took advantage of that email to clear out some boring guns. Lol
I'm not sure why but I had a Colt A2 grip on back order from Brownells that shipped a couple weeks ago. Guess its the feel of the material but I wish every grip had the same slight polymer/rubbery feel as genuine Colt A2's. Love the ergonomics of BCM and Magpul grips but hate the chincy plastic feel and mold lines you have to shave off with a knife.
Why wouldn't it be that if arms unlimited sold you a lower which shipped and sold through your FFL as an 'other firearm' you could build it as a pistol? To your knowledge it had never been anything but a receiver.
I understand Colt may have registered the receiver as a rifle, but how would a regular consumer be able to find out that info? You'd be acting in good faith unless it was clear you were buying a used receiver.
Yes, I want you to be the test case.
You just ask Colt.
I emailed Stag and gave the the S/N and they told me how they were designated in a day or two. I assune Colt will do the same
Dsg had/has 6920's for under 1k. I have randomly seen stock elsewhere
Brownells has ccu uppers for around $500- less with code haa if it is still active
When I was dealing with Colt customer service last year there were only two guys in the whole department. I never got an email response to anything and had a call and hope to get somebody on the phone. Problem was eventually resolved and the people I spoke to were pretty nice but emailing is difficult with them for some reason. They actually mailed me paperwork.
Shark Arms had Colt F/A BCGs in stock; I emailed them to ask about availability, confirm that they actually have them. When they said they did, I emailed my order and requested an invoice.
No reply.
E-mailed again asking if they got the e-mail requesting invoice.
SA replies, “yes, we received your e-mail.” Nothing else.
E-mailed again asking for invoice.
SA replies “oh - I thought you were an existing customer who ordered from us before, and confused you with someone else. We’re all sold out of Colt BCGs. Sorry about that.”
I called their historian a few months ago and got him on the phone after the second or third try. I have the serial numbers of two of my issued M4s and was interested in knowing when they were manufactured. He pulled up the serial numbers in about ten seconds and told me the year they each left the factory. Nice guy, very efficient. For this specific question about whether a serial number was every built up as a complete rifle, he could probably help. Their website seems to have changed a bit, but I believe this is the department with the phone number at the bottom:

On the subject of Arms Unlimited, they responded over on ARFCOM and said that these are complete 6920 lowers, but they didn't answer the question about whether they were previously built up as rifles.
Geissele has Colt BCG's and Colt upper receivers in stock. BF sale prices for the time being.
