I have a LMT 16" upper that I need to make NY compliant by having a muzzle brake permanently affixed. Are there a couple of muzzle brake models that can be recommended. Thanks

Give ADCO a call and see what they can do for you.

.
Just about anything can be perm. mounted. I've recently pin/welded a SDI extended A2 flash hider on a 6921 barrel just yesterday. I perm. mounted a SureFire 556MB to a 14.5" Noveske barrel last week.
I gave Steve at ADCO a shout And he recommended a RR Tac brake. Looks like I'll go that way. GotM4 the law here states that it has to be a muzzle brake. I can't use any type of flash hider:mad: I have another question before the muzzle brake goes on 4 ever ,should I have ADCO install a FF rail ?
Foxtrapper ,
I am also in NY and had to have the same thing done. After reading all the positive feedback about ADCO I decided to go with them.
I had ADCO blind pin and weld a PWS 556FSC for me a few weeks ago...turn around time was 1 week... cost was $30....great service IMHO.
Research your options in muzzle breaks before deciding. On another build I have a pinned Surefire muzzle break.
Good luck.
i recently heard soldering is an approved method- anybody confirm? that'd be fricken ideal- zero damage to either barrel or MD, fairly easy to undo
NY45acp how did you handle the front sight bayo lug? ADCO said they could cut off the lug and refinish. I asked about a railed gas block as a replacement , they have a weaver railed block in stock as an option:).
Foxtrapper, ask Adco to nueter the bayonet lug and Park' it.;)
I'd then recommend a Primary Weapons FSC556 comp. It considered a compensator/brake by ATF. Whatever rail you plan to use you should have installed before perm. mounting the brake/comp. If you're going to use DD Omega rails or Troy rails down the road later, then you don't have to install those at the time the comp/brake in installed.
+1 for the PWS FSC556 as I have one on my LWRC M6A2.
