An "absolute co-witness"(as usually described) will have your iron sights view directly centered in the optic.A "lower 1/3 co-witness" will have your irons looking through the bottom(1/3) of the optic.Most seem to prefer the lower 1/3 co(higher optic).
If your optic is sitting so low as to have your iron sight view in the top half of the optic its probably too low.
My front site comes up 1/2 way in my optic. up 1/2 from the bottom and center of optic.

A lower 1/3 also readily permits use of a rear sight in the up position (or a fixed rear BUIS) without cluttering the field of view through the optic. An absolute cowitness does have application, but is most applicable when using a BUIS in the down position, as it permits a more accurate use of the tube as an expedient ghost-ring. What you give up is the ability to accurately hold-over at longer distances past the second crossover of the bullet's trajectory and line of sight (which is inherant of pretty much all iron sights since the front post will obscure the target).
There are several factors that can influence cowitness choice, though many of them are inconsequential once the shooter becomes more skilled and in-tune with their setup and technique. By far the most popular choice is lower 1/3 due to its flexibility with different BUIS setups and ease of use.
Apologies for being long-winded, but I advise against selecting a mounting option based off of what the height looks like. The most important aspect of an optic is what you see through it, and all that that implies.
To get back to the question though- I like the LT-150 for non-magnified use. There may be other options that are just as good or possibly better- but it is the only after-market non-cantilever that I own and have had nothing but positive experience with. In that same vein, I prefer the LT 129 for use with a magnifier, but it does just as well as the 150 for non-mag use but is a bit more $.

Larue, ADM and Bobro are all great mounts
I have had both the former and they are good to go of course
I just got a Bobro and am very impressed with it
I run a flattop with no irons and got the 150, dot is 1.5" up from the top of the rail, same as irons
anything made by Larue.
I bought the ADM and love it. Very well built and return zero. I like the style of it to with the holes cut out on the sides.
I have a CompM2 and just use the Aimpoint quick detach mount with the riser spacer. Light, and works good enough for me.
My LaRue mount should be here monday....:D
I have a 6920 with a Aimpoint M4s and in my opinion the Bobro mount is head and shoulders better than any other :D
