It looks like you can center the front sight post in the rear apperature faster. This is only an observation looking at it in the picture with no first hand experience with it though.

Dan installed a diamondhead sight on my troy rear flip up BUIS this past month. I have it mounted on my LMT along with my aimpoint as shown here:

I tried it out for the first time this past Sunday. At first I fired with my aimpoint mounted as normal. This sight picture was awkward. My field of view was partially obstructed by the aimpoint, so I could not fully see the tabs that stick out on either side of the sight. I did the best I could to reproduce this with this picture:

Peering through the sight itself produced a shape that was something between a circle and a square, with no definite edges while focused on the front sight post. I did not like this at all. So, I removed my aimpoint and gave it another try.
Without my aimpoint obstructing the view of the side tabs I began to understand why the diamondhead is designed this way. The tabs on the side give you a quick reference point for elevation and the tab on the top is quick reference for windage. I found it easy to correctly align my sights.
At this point I can say I prefer the diamondhead sight picture over the standard sight picture without my aimpoint obstructing the field of view, but with my aimpoint mounted I much prefer the standard sight.
I think this sight will be more of a personal preference choice rather than one to replace their other sights. However Troy's quality is top notch and their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I'd buy one but I like the Troy M4 ones I have just fine.
We have the new diamond head Troy's in stock (on our website).
