I borrowed a small spring loaded punch from work and it seriously took less than fifteen seconds to do. I never had an issue with it loosening before but I just don't understand why one wouldn't stake the nut unless you change out receiver extensions on the same rifle several times a year as even with the minimalist type staking Stag Arms does it was way more difficult to remove the castle nut versus the non-staked one I had on a middy home build I sold many moons ago. With the proper staking on my rifle now I would have a bear of a time getting the nut back off if I ever had to remove the RE again.
