It is a 6520
A C8 and a SFW are not the same model, either.

Too bad Colt USA doesn't make and market this mid-length heavy barrel weapon. I'm sure they would be a huge hit here. I'd definitely get one or two.
According to the description on their website, it is, but the picture looks like a carbine profile. http://www.coltcanada.com/sfw-page.htm
Hello Guy's, As you're interested in "Colt Canada" mfg'd AR-15's, you may want to vist the following link; >>> http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...f=118&t=440379 <<< I just happened across it this morning, and from what I'm reading, there may be a batch of Colt Canada mfg'd & marked AR variant's available for sale here in the USA. The model referred to in the above link appears to be very similar ( if not exactly like ) a Colt LE6920 model. DIEMACO, now known as Colt Canada has been producing Colt licensed M16 series weapons for quite a few years now, having provided military contracts to several NATO countries. Their quality is absolutely on par with our domestic production Colt's, and their availability at the present time may help to bring the current market price down to acceptable levels.

The SFW is a 16" heavy barreled carbine. Apparently Colt Canada built the firearm after input from SF members here in Canada and elsewhere. They wanted the 16" barrel, a better overall fit for their mission needs. The barrel is also made heavier to be more durable. I guess you could liken it to the CLP of the AR world, it tries to fill multiple roles in one package.
I know from personal experience with my issued SFW and other Colt and Colt Canada carbines that this one is the best I've used. It's a little heavier due to the barrel but for my uses is just about perfect.
Welcome to M4Carbine.
" ...here in Canada..." caught my eye.

Sounds like this new member would be a very good source of first hand information concerning the topic of "Canadian Colts".
