It says it has a "mid length barrel", whatever that is. The pics are definitely of a gun with a carbine length gas system.

CF issued SFW are Carbine lenght gas system 1000 %
I am not sure what the news is on the Colt Canada website...

Just surfing the net and stumbled across the C8SFW rifle. Essentially a carbine length gas system and 16in barrel made by Colt Canada for military use. Quite interesting, the user quotes I've found seem to love it. I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the mid length gas system but it's evidently not essential for a 16in barreled carbine.
It's not a mid-length.
It's carbine length like the M4, but features a heavy barrel that is 16" long

I bought a pair of 6920's for each of my two kids in 2006. Went through a LE dealer. One of the guns that came in was a Canadian made Colt. At first, I thought I got ripped off. Called Colt and spoke with someone from their LE sales division.
The only real difference between the US made guns and the Canadian made guns would seem to be the barrel. The Canadian made gun has a cold hammer forged barrel. And the markings are laser etched vs stamped on the barrel.
I bought a 4th gun for my wife. Divorced the wife, kept the gun. I now have US made 6920's in storage for when the kids get old enough. I use the Canadian made gun as a spare to my primary gun.
If there is any collector interest in Canadian made Colt guns, I haven't seen it. Mine is going to be used.
I'm not trying to argue the point. I was informed the Colt/Diemaco made guns used Diemaco's CHF barrels. This could have been incorrect information.
Is there any way to tell? The only difference in the markings on the barrels is the "CC" on the Canadian barrel above the NATO markings, vs. the "C" marking above the NATO marking on the US made gun.
