I probably am exaggerating a bit, but a good example of what I am talking about is found with a trip to the grocery store. Ever notice that the things you buy are a fraction smaller in total weight or size than they used to be? However, you are paying the same, or more. The reason for this is invariably a rise in the price of the raw materials or something similar, but when that increased price goes away, you don't get back the larger, cheaper product you did before the increase.
