I dont know what it is, but I just love beat up rifles. I think we should start a pic thread for beat up guns. So, post em' up.

Good call. I LOVE a well used rifle and 1911. One of my BCMs and my DD M4 are getting some good wear in and I love it. I don't think they qualify yet for this thread though.
issued M4 of a good friend of mine in Iraq

What blows my mind is that the sling is still intact...
ETA: Might that be an A4? Looks to be rifle length flat top. I believe these are mostly carried by USMC/Navy. Never seen any in the Army.
Was the castle nut staked? ;)

I've got about a thousand more of these....
Here's an A4 after an IED attack back in 04'. No idea where the upper receiver went to

The rifle and the truck were the only casualties from that one.
Not saying they aren't out there. Just never seen them in Army hands. Modularity changed a bunch of dynamics pertaining to equipment, etc. My unit in the 101st ABN had to laterally transfer most of our M4s to the new 4th BDE, 101st and we were issued brand new M16A2's as replacements. I am sure many units were issued lots of different weapons based on the gaps created by all the changes.
Hey that MK19 looking thing up there, we found one in a cache in Garmsir. 30mm, its charging handle is that cable at the rear with the handle on it. Neat little things.
This one was accidently left outside a Hesco right before a VBIED hit

Wow.....thats a little more beat up than I was looking for.....
Yeah, these destroyed rifles shots are cool, but let's see people's hard use work rifles, the ones they would bet their lives on and have. The well used WORKING RUNNING rifles.
This what you are looking for?

Been running this for about 12yrs w/ about 12K through it.....yes it's an Oly [please no flames!] but it has run in the truck for many miles, gathered up a few yotes, gone through a few classes, humped through miles of Az desert and with just minor PM has kept right on ticking. Never let me down.
FWIW
Well used rifles may be more appropriate for this thread. Not completely decimated. :D
I agree……I think “well used“ is a much better term….
Its not a beat up rifle, but it is a beat up handgun.....
