This isn't a go-to rifle, but I found it in my safe....
Colt 6520 with a Trijicon TA44R-4 Compact ACOG.

I like this one. It seems like I have been enjoying shooting the AR's more than the AK's. Maybe it has something to do with not being able to see well enough anymore to shoot tangent sights.
I had a TA50-4 and sold it a few years ago. Wish I still had it. Those compact ACOG's are sweet!
My NEXT AR will be a KISS rifle. Basic CAR15 I hope - or perhaps even just a 20" AR!

This is as KISS as I go:

While I understand the nostalgic or collectible appeal of old school ARs, I would never limit my go-to gun by drawing an arbitrary line in the sand: fixed irons on one side, everything else on the other.
how practical are the A1/C7/A2 uppers in the days of railed optics? Does anyone really think having a fixed carry handle upper is more beneficial in any way?
I'm sure others will chime in, but unless one is making a retro rifle or an example of some military rifle for their collection, a flat top is better in my opinion.
That being said I do have a sort of kiss rifle, an bushy dissipator with an a2 upper. At the time I figured I'd only use irons so I got an a2, definately a mistake. All I've done with it is add a light, a sling I made myself, and cut the finger groove off the a2 grip. I'd like to make it a flat top and add a spare aimpoint I have, but since it's my truck rifle and not by HD gun, I'm in no hurry to do it.
I'll go with the crowd that a says a stock rifle is limited in use compared to one with a few simple additions. Of course I have to give a pass for retro rifles since I think they are cool and are rarely used for anything other than collecting and range use anyway.
