Thoughts after 1/2 a day today.
Nothing new at Gemtech, but AAC had a ton of new stuff, some of it very interesting.
I very much like the look of the Masada, and the thought that went into the design. The guys we talked to said it is based on the 180, but pretty loosely. It will be a very interesting product for sure.
The guy we talked to at FN said 2008 for an LE SCAR, and he couldn't speculate as to when we might see a civilian model. He seemed kind of insulted that we would even ask.
The new AUG looks VERY nice, and the guy we spoke to in the booth was very knowledgeable. If there was ever a gun that I'd buy as a collector piece, an AUG would be it. I guess it's from too much Miami Vice growing up...
The Cproducts 9mm mag looks awesome. Very good quality, and it makes me wish I owned a 9mm AR just so I could buy some mags.
Aimpoint's new AA product looks very nice, but I was more interested in their mini model.
The Tango Down short grip will be very cool, and allegedly 600 will be produced some time in the next month or so. I'll have one, but I may just cut off the grip(s) I have as thats all TD is doing. It costs $3 more for them to sell you a short one.
I will get a couple of pairs of Woolrich lightweight pants. They also incorporated the extra belt loop at the seam that the 10-8 folks said I was stupid for asking for. Go figure.
The "high speed" internet connection in my hotel room isn't very, so I'll have to upload pics when I get back.
