When people ask which rifle, manufacturer, etc, there is really no simple answer. My suggestion is always to heavily consider what you want to do with the rifle, which configuration you wish, what features you want, and what are the things that you don't want. Then once you know exactly what you want start looking from there.
Many people make statements that everyone uses the same parts, or one brand is the same as the other. What you will find is that at face value to the uneducated most rifles and parts appear to be the same. When in fact upon closer inspection there is a huge difference many times between the manufacturers of the rifles and parts, and many times how they are put together. An example would be that many manufactures state that they use Wilson barrels, where the real question lies is who actually made the finished barrel, as what you will find is that many are using Wilson blanks and then are finished by someone else other than Wilson. Many purchasers are not aware of the difference between a chrome-alloy barrel versus a chrome lined barrel, we recommend for the serious person to always buy chrome lined for most applications. Chrome lining does cost a little more, but look at it from the simple basis of that most users will greatly extend their barrel life greatly.
There is a huge difference receivers. For example, many use forgings and some use castings, we recommend and use forgings as they are consistently stronger. All receivers are not machined the same, as if you look closely there are differences that most people don't even notice until you point them out. On our lower receivers that we sell and use on our rifles, you will see that we use a deep bevel on the magazine well for easier feeding as it acts like a funnel, we also open up the tolerances inside the magazine well to allow for more variations of magazines to feed and fit better. We put the fire control markings on both sides. We add a trigger adjustment screw to all our lower receivers. We machine in a grip textured area on the front of the magazine well which works nice for those that rest their support hand there.
There is a huge difference in bolts, bolt carriers, and fire control parts, of which many have been discussed in other threads. Examples would be the FN & Colt Contract parts, of which we use in our rifles.
There are many other features that the different manufactures offer on stock model rifles. Examples would be stock options, quad rails versus standard hand-guards, carry handle or flip-up BUIS, same plane apertures, trigger guards, charging handles, etc.
Again consider what exactly you want the rifle to do, then pick the features that you want, and then make a decision based on that to get exactly what you want. I look at firearms as a tool and investment, you get what you pay for so purchase wisely.

Thanks for all the info.
How's the pricing on the stripped barrel alone?
How are the SLR15 Operator Carbines? They seem really nice but I have never seen one in person or fired one. Anyone ever used one or seen one?

But I wouldn't take anything for my RRA ET. It's been alot of fun! It lives up to it's moa. The thing is a much better shooter than I am. No problems what-so-ever after (granted, only) about 500 rounds.
I'm no expert by any means, but for the money, I'm happy!
You could probably find a Bushmaster for under 1200 bills. I purchased one at the Sportsmans Warehouse for around 1,100.00. And I love it.
