I have an use both. They are both great in their own ways.
Both have excellent mounting options. Both have great battery life. The T-1 uses a battery (CR2032) that can be purchased for about $1 online and runs 50,000 hours. The M4 uses AA batteries but I recommend running the lithium batteries to ensure that the sight is operational in a greater temperature range. Lithium AA batteries run about $2-3 and will keep the M4 up and running for 80,000 hours.
So basically, for me, it comes down to this:
- If lightweight was my main concern, I would go with the T-1.
- If I wanted to run a magnifier (or there was even a remote chance I would ever run one), I would go with the M4 or M4s. I find that the micro Aimpoints don't "magnify" well (the dot triples).
- If having the most bomb proof Aimpoint to date was my concern, I would go with the M4/M4s. That isn't to say that the T-1 is a slouch in the durability department, it is actually EXTREMELY stout. The M4 is just that bomb proof.
I agree with this. I run a T1 and I have no doubts about it's durability. I do however think the M4 and M4S are probably a little more "bomb proof".Quote:

I like the T1, it works well on both my AR's and my AK's... Well made and durable...
Regarding the T-1: I witnessed Pat Rogers throw his T-1 in a larue mount against a steel locker and then dropped about 4 feet landing on a concrete floor. He tossed it again and it hit the floor, again. He then mounted it on his rifle and shot it during the course or let someone shoot it during the course and it still held zero. He purchases his aimpoints (all 30+), by the way, so don't think he is testing the durability of a free optic.
T-1 is by far my favorite Aimpoint to date. The M4 is very nice but I still prefer the M3 in a quality mount over the M4. You really can't go wrong with any of them though.
