So your suggesting to sell the Semi-auto bcg that came with the rifle and use the Full Auto BCG I purchased from BCM? Also have the second FA as a backup?
What would be a good head space gauge to purchase? Appreciate your time

Make sure you buy a USGI headspace gauge (that is what Bill Ricca sells), otherwise you have to take the ejector (round rod in the bolt face, not the extractor) out of the bolt to check your rifle.
From his website:
M16 Maximum Headspace Gage, Ordnance Part Number 7799734, NSN 4933-00-070-7814. Disassembly of bolt not needed, gage is cut for extractor and ejector clearance. Each gage is new, in US GI pack. $35.00
I hope you don't mind me asking this question on this thread. I have been trying to search for information on this forum about the BCG. I am in the middle of my first build and getting ready to purchase the BCG. I have been finding both Auto and Semi Auto BCG's. I guess the question is does it matter which one you use in a Semi Auto rifle, also is there any legal issues with using a Auto BCG in a Semi Auto Rifle?
Any Help would be appreciated.
There are no legal issues.
Are you stating that I can use a Bolt from a totally different manufacturer in the BCM BCG as a backup? In other words the carrier lasts for ever so to speak and it's just the bolts that break. And bolts are replaceable within any given Carrier regardless of manufacturer? So what I need for backups are generally extra bolts?
