Buffer tube install questions
I finally have all the parts to build my first lower. Looking at it I realized the one tool I haven't got was a wrench to install the castle nut on the buffer tube. Not sure how I missed that one. I have browsed the forum for suggestions on a decent one but am still a a little unsure. I don't anticipate using it a lot but want something that won't break the first time or worse, screw up my tube or nut. I saw RRA and Smith Enterprise wrenches recommended here. Suggestions or thoughts?
I saw a wrench from Specialized Armament that was used with a 1/2" breakover or torque wrench. Anyone used it? If using a torque wrench how much torque should you use?
Please bear with me but I have another question. On various online websites and in the book "The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide" I see recommendations for using locktite on the buffer tube. Is this the "right" way to do it? It didn't sound right to me but I can't say why. Does anyone else do this? Thanks.
