I run a fixed L.T on my patrol rifle. I like fixed with my reddot and have been happy with the L.T. Its a back up so I dont miss the elevation.
...
I might look into the DD BUIS. I've got plans to get a 6920 or LMT in the next couple of months and that may be just what I'm looking for. I currently run a cut carry handle on my bushy.
.
Larue would be my choice of the two mentioned, First the attachment latch is on the right side, the LMT has a has a HUGE nut on the left side which gets in the way when using the charging handle. The Larue is available with same plane apetures and is minimilist with less to break and or snag, to me there is no question between the two.
Just a civvie here, but I chose LaRue because I trust the company, and I was ordering an Aimpoint and one of their cantilever mounts at the same time. Needed a BUIS so I tacked it onto the order.
I had an LMT fixed on my gun for years with an older Aimpoint setup. Bought a Aimpoint micro and bought a Troy folder. I just did not like the concept of the folder on my entry gun so I returned to the LMT fixed. Much happier with the constant co-witness. I tried the LT fixed on one of my other guns for a while, much prefer the LMT setup.
Thanks everyone! You all have been a huge help. Ya, I agree the DD's no snag design starting to look very good despite not being considered initially.
Back to the LMT however, canting/twisting of the elevation feature's not a problem like what we've been seeing with carry handles lately in the forum?
As for mounting, has anyone ever tried modifying their LMT BUIS? Cutting down the screw and replacing with a hex nut or anything of that sort?
Thanks! Finding the right one (hex nut) shouldnt be too difficult.
Do you happen to have photos of yours?
bro. I use an LMT buis. I like the looks of it. seems to be in the right place. There are times that I just like to shoot irons.
