Grant offers this one. If I were looking for a SBR, mainly could afford one, I'd pick that up.
11.5" or 12.5", both are GTG
I figure if you are going through the extra hassle to go shorter than a 14.5" with a permanent flash hider you may as well get down to the length used for the SOCOM Close Quarters Battle Reciever, 10.5"
I bought the 10.5" LMT upper and it has been 100% reliable, with a FA or SA BCG, carbine buffer up to an H2 buffer, with and without a can. So in other words it has been 100% reliable in every configuration I could put it in.
It balances well and shoots great, literally sub MOA groups at 100yards with good ammo.
Just looks right too.

Along the same lines - it looks to me like adding a can greatly reduces the benefits of an SBR for CQB work (though it would make using a rifle in HD easier on the ears)... so would dropping down to the 10.5" help maintain as much of the SBR benefit as possible without getting into reliability/ballistic issues with something like a 7.5" if one was going to run a can?
IMHO, the ideal "GP" SBR is a 12.5
I personally like 11.5 with with a Noveski Flaming Pig. I am also currently working on another 11.5" with a PWS CQB Comp.
Can't wait until I'm done.
I like the 12.5" myself.
There seems to be a slight ballistic edge to the 12.5 over the 10.5, and I can't feel any difference between a 10.5 and a 12.5 gun, with or without a can.
I personally think that the 10.5 looks better, but that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot.
